Xbox Live Community Games to hit Japan

Thanks to Runway360’s post on the Xbox Forums, the news that Xbox Live Community Games will coming hitting Japan this summer, here is their post:

“Microsoft Japan held a media briefing today and its announcements included the launch of Community Games for Japan, Japanese-language support for XNA Creators Club Online and XNA Game Studio 3.1 Japanese Edition.

According to Microsoft Japan’s press release and a notice posted on Creators Club Online:

1. Xbox LIVE Community Games is starting this summer in Japan.
2. Creators Club Online will accept submission from developers in Japan in mid-July.
3. Distribution of XNA Game Studio 3.1 Japanese Edition is scheduled before mid-July to make it in time for start of accepting games, which is timed with the opening of Japanese Creators Club Online.

When I was writing No. 3, I wondered for a moment if xna.com could be a more proper place to post this thread because it might arouse interest and speculation from developers outside Japan too. But that is not my purpose. Still I’m posting here.

In short, Community Games starts in Japan this summer.”

    It’s awesome to see them getting added, hopefully this increases sales, but i’m sure there will be some awesome games coming out of Japan, though they may be non-english, but still Japan knows there games 🙂

    Hopefully more countries get added over the following months, so more people can enjoy purchasing them as well.

  2. I remember reading some time back that some Japanese games made with XNA looked really good compared to their western counter parts, so I will be looking forward to what they come up with.
